Ah, a drive by shooting:-) I do many of those myself. Yours is fantastic. Looks like the structure is flooded. I do wish we had ducks somewhere near so I could watch them. I find them to be some of the most graceful creatures. Beautiful image.

The water looks so high!! Such a peaceful image. Love the textures and soft color created by the rain.

to Aldis Udris: you know what is funny about your comment...I know this photo is a Canadian Goose, because they are EVERYWHERE here in Minnesota, but I really wanted to title this photo- "Water off a Duck's back". There is some quote in reference to that saying I think. But I had this internal struggle with myself because I knew this bird was not really a duck. So my title had to go into the garbage. And then, to add to the short story, after I read your comment, I googled this: "What is the difference between a duck and a goose". The answer was something about neck size and quacks and honks.

This photo is endearing. There's a storm going on and far out the left it looks like the storm is worse and the building in getting swamped and yet the little goose seems to represent a great peace, no matter what happens Life will prevail. I love the green against the white. It's almost a B&W photo except for the green. Incredible beauty around us and you see it.

I did finally get my raft out on the water this summer; I was in heaven. But I hope next summer to have a kayak or canoe. I miss my canoe. I did a lot of solo hiking though, which helped me deal with my intense work load. I love that quiet time alone on a mountain. Especially at sunset or dawn. In that time alone I really feel what Life is about and who I am. It's an amazingly intimate and peaceful feeling. I know you understand.
