My morning paddling companions | Sunday Aug 10, 2008

Couldn't sleep...got up early (early for me anyway...I like to sleep in on the weekends). So up I was at 6:30 a.m. and went for a paddle on a local lake. This daddy loon and child loon accompanied me for part of my journey. I floated on the peaceful lake while consuming my morning Mountain Dew...and all was well with the world. A great way to start the day!

Very nice. I notice how different these look from the loons I paddle by here in NH, which have much darker heads. I love paddling by loons (they're much larger than you'd think), and watching them in the saltwater in winter. You caught these guys nicely - more loon photos, please!

This is so beautiful and sweet...and I love the lighting on the water and the tree reflections of green-very nice!
