6 days old and hungry! I have taken photographs of these birds every single day since they were born. There are 6 baby birds in all....I will actually kind of miss them when they fly away. I was hoping to get a direct into the mouth shot...my patience paid off. It is fun to look at animals in a new way. Heightens my appreciation for them.

I too love canoing, being on and in the water. I grew up in western Maine and for a time lived in Northeren Maine near Baxter State Park, then I've lived in Australia in the rainforest for years and other countries and am now in New Mexico, which I love because of the sun and warmth, but I miss the water every ten feet like it was in Maine.
I am slowly moving into photography, but only at the baby stage of it so far. But it is THE number ONE thing in my life that gives me joy, that and being in the woods hiking or being on the water when I can. I used to canoe all the time in Maine and had a really nice Old Town canoe that was so sturdy you could drive a car over it, and it just popped back into shape.
I am going to mark your site in Blog Catalog so that I can come back and visit. I loved the baby bird series with their heads all eyes and down. And the Killdeer, especially the one lone baby titled "GOODBYE BABY". Oh gawd they are so precious.
The Loon "keeping an eye on you" is SOOOO beautiful; the expression is incredible. I love the forest of your dreams also. The purple flower against the blurred green background. The photo of you on the rocks photographing the petroglyphs. The pink tulips and an so many others. Even the STREET ST was clever. I am inspired to keep photographing and to eventually get a much better camera. Photography is the number one thing that relaxes me. I am thinking of turning my blog into a photo blog or at least part of it.
Thank you for making my morning and filling me with dreams, inspiration and awe. RainforestRobin
