I wish you could have been hear when I open to this photo. I kid you not...I gasped..they let out a looong "Oh my gaaaawd!" This is one of THE MOST stunning photos I've ever seen. i love the way the sun shines through his wings and you can see every single feather. You are a phenomenal photographer. You must just go bezerk when you load these onto your computer after taking them. I know I would. :)

Looks like a Great Blue Heron, but not of course. We live on a creek and across from Lake Huron so water/shorebirds are abundant. Great photo though, were you in a blind? Love bird photo's as I carve song birds and ducks. Robin Easton sent me over, I understood your post over there. Power of mind can take you anywhere.

Thank you for all the kind comments! I am happy you like this photo as much as I do. To answer "forestman", no I was not in a blind....I was in my canoe on the Mississippi River. I canoe sometimes to a Rookery where Herons and Egrets like to hang out. It is like a bird paradise....and it is too shallow for boats with motors...so only canoes and kayaks can go there. So far I have only seen me and the birds. Very peaceful!
